Lorenzo Ocasio Hartman

Welcome, and Thank You for Visiting my Page!

My name is: Lorenzo Ocasio Hartman and I’m honored to run as an Independent Candidate for the Schuylkill Valley School Board. As both a current SVHS senior and a lifelong member of this community, I’ve experienced our schools from the inside and come from a family of proud alumni with deep roots in the valley. I believe now is the time to restore our district’s strength and spirit — for Students, Teachers, and Parents alike.

My Story

I’ve grown up surrounded by Schuylkill Valley pride — in the classrooms, the community events, and the families who call this district home. My story begins here and continues here, in the same halls my parents, relatives, and mentors once walked. I come from a family of proud SV alumni who taught me that leadership means serving others and that every voice matters.

Over the years, I’ve watched our district face both inspiring growth and difficult challenges. I’ve seen moments that strengthened our schools and others that reminded me just how much work still lies ahead. Those experiences shaped my belief that real change begins with listening — listening to students who want to be heard, teachers who deserve respect, and parents who care deeply about our schools.

That’s why I chose to run. Not for recognition, but for restoration — to bring back the spirit, safety, and excellence that once defined our Valley. My story isn’t about politics; it’s about people, pride, and purpose. Together, we can build something even stronger for generations to come.

The Who & Why

“What does the Lord require of you? To act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God.” — Micah 6:8

At my core, I’m someone who believes that leadership is not about titles — it’s about timing. And right now, it’s time for a new kind of leadership in our schools.

Who am I? I’m a student, a neighbor, and a lifelong member of the Schuylkill Valley community. I’ve grown up learning from the teachers who shaped me, supported by the families who built this district, and inspired by the alumni who paved the way. Those connections — past and present — have made me who I am today.

Why am I running? Because I’ve seen both sides of our district — the pride and promise that once defined us, and the frustration that too many now feel. I’ve witnessed incredible progress, but also painful decline. And I believe that if we listen, unite, and act with purpose, we can restore the Valley’s heart and raise the standard of what our schools can be.

This campaign isn’t about politics — it’s about people. It’s about rebuilding trust, strengthening relationships, and ensuring that every student and educator feels supported, seen, and safe. That’s my “why.” And it’s what drives me every single day.
